Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

Does the Authority have any security procedures?

Answer:

Yes. In compliance with the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002, the Authority has developed and implemented certain policies to assure the security of its terminals and vessels and safe sailing for the Authority's passengers and crews. While you will not be aware of all of the Authority's security measures, some of them will be readily noticeable to you. For example, only baggage accompanied by a ticketed passenger is permitted on the luggage carts. Access to the Authority's vessels is limited to those individuals with tickets or official Authority identification; and, once boarded, passengers are not permitted to disembark without the Master’s permission until the vessel has departed and reached its destination.
